Zuri Zanzibar

HOTEL OVERVIEW

Set on the world-renowned Kendwa Beach, Zuri Zanzibar is one of the island’s most breathtaking luxury resorts — a place where natural beauty, contemporary design and pure tranquillity meet. Meaning “beautiful” in Swahili, Zuri lives up to its name in every detail, from its idyllic private spice garden to its sprawling tropical grounds filled with curated palms, fragrant flowers and shaded pathways designed for peaceful wanders. The resort’s bungalows, suites and villas are thoughtfully tucked into this lush landscape, each offering complete privacy, generous outdoor terraces and exquisite handcrafted interiors that blend modern comfort with organic Zanzibari style.

Days here effortlessly revolve around Kendwa’s powder-soft white sand and one of the largest, most swimmable lagoons in Zanzibar, where calm turquoise water remains high-tide friendly all day — a rarity on the island’s coastline. It’s the perfect spot to unwind with a cocktail in hand, admire the kaleidoscope of Indian Ocean colours, and soak in Zanzibar’s most spectacular sunsets, for which this stretch of beach is famous.

Whether you’re relaxing in your outdoor shower, lounging on your private terrace, or exploring the lush spice garden unique to Zuri, everything is designed to create a sense of harmony and slow, mindful living. The resort’s contemporary dining spaces, beachfront bars and vibrant cultural touches enhance the experience, making Zuri an ideal choice for honeymooners, couples, design lovers and anyone seeking a luxurious escape with the perfect balance of privacy, style and island charm.

A stay at Zuri Zanzibar is not just a holiday — it’s a beautifully curated experience of serenity, barefoot elegance and effortless coastal luxury, set on one of the most unforgettable beaches in the world.

Useful Info

  • What To Pack

As a guide, the maximum weight for checked luggage is 20kg in economy class and 30kg in business class. Your hand-luggage should not weigh more than 6kg and needs to be small and compact.

Take along your best beach and casual wear, perfect for the day. A light rain jacket might come in handy in the event of the occasional rain shower. Sunglasses and suntan lotion are a must. Flip flops, sun hat and a beach bag. If you’re planning on adventuring around the island (there’s so much more to see and do outside of your hotel!) be sure to pack a pair of comfy walking shoes, and lots of suncream!

  • Take Your Own

Don’t forget any medication that you might need, and be sure to pack it in your hand luggage.

Chargers for all your devices (it’s a good idea to take along a few movies on a tablet or something similar as the English TV channels in your hotel may be limited).

Take along your own goggles & snorkels – even though your resort will have this equipment available free of charge or to hire, you’ll probably be happier having your own.

Mosquito repellent. An underwater camera is a great idea.

  • Travel Tips

Pack a change of clothing in your hand luggage in case of baggage delays (and a spare cozzie so at least you can have a swim when you get to your resort). No sharp objects are permitted in your hand luggage (yes, tweezers are sharp!). Put electronics, medication, toothbrushes and jewellery in your carry-on bag.

Travel insurance is a must. If you can’t afford it, you can’t afford to travel! Travelling with kids – please check that you have all the relevant documents including unabridged Birth Certificates.

It’s often a good idea to let your bank or credit card company know that you’re going overseas.
