Our team of specialists have travelled Madagascar extensively, to bring you our best first-hand knowledge and experiences when curating your tailor-made journey. Madagascar is one of the world’s most fascinating and unique destinations — a vast island filled with extraordinary landscapes, rare wildlife and vibrant culture. From the iconic Avenue of the Baobabs and dramatic canyons of Isalo National Park to the limestone pinnacles of Tsingy de Bemaraha, the mainland offers unforgettable adventures and the chance to encounter wildlife found nowhere else on Earth, including many species of lemurs.

Beyond the mainland, Madagascar’s islands add a dreamy tropical touch. Nosy Be and its surrounding islands are the jewel of the destination, with powder-white beaches, turquoise waters, incredible marine life and spectacular sunsets — making them perfect for a relaxing Indian Ocean escape after exploring the wild beauty of the mainland.

  • A holiday to Madagascar is unlike anywhere else on Earth. This extraordinary island off Africa’s east coast is famous for its incredible biodiversity, with around 90% of its wildlife found nowhere else in the world — including over 50 species of lemur, colourful chameleons and countless rare plants and birds. Your journey typically begins in the capital Antananarivo (“Tana”), the gateway to a land filled with dramatic national parks and unique ecosystems.

From the iconic Avenue of the Baobabs and the rugged canyons of Isalo National Park to the lush rainforests of Andasibe and Masoala, Madagascar offers unforgettable adventure at every turn. After exploring the wild interior, travellers can unwind on the tropical islands of Nosy Be or Île Sainte-Marie, where turquoise waters, coral reefs and incredible marine life create the perfect Indian Ocean escape.

  • Madagascar is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit depends on what you want to experience. For wildlife viewing, April–May and September–November are excellent months, with lemurs active throughout the year and birdlife particularly rewarding from September to mid-December. If seeing humpback whales is on your list, visit between July and August.

The dry season (May–October) is generally the most comfortable time to travel, with mild temperatures and ideal conditions for safaris and hiking. For beach lovers, September to December offers beautiful weather along Madagascar’s tropical coastline and islands such as Nosy Be and Île Sainte-Marie.

  • Madagascar is a destination of extraordinary contrasts, where dramatic landscapes, rare wildlife and beautiful tropical beaches come together in one unforgettable journey. Explore remarkable national parks such as Tsingy de Bemaraha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its towering limestone “stone forest,” deep canyons and incredible biodiversity.

Nature lovers will also enjoy Ankarana National Park, known for its caves, unique wildlife and diverse birdlife. For a taste of local culture, the highland town of Fianarantsoa offers charming streets, tea and wine regions, and sweeping views over Madagascar’s lush countryside.

In the far north, the coastal city of Antsiranana (Diego Suarez) provides the perfect gateway to explore the region’s natural beauty — from dramatic bays to the crystal-clear turquoise waters of the Emerald Sea.
