Meeru Island Resort & Spa

HOTEL OVERVIEW

A classic favourite, offering that dreamy combination of powdery white beaches, turquoise lagoon views and a wonderfully relaxed island vibe. Located in the North Malé Atoll and easily reached by speedboat, it delivers an authentic tropical escape without the fuss—making it ideal for travellers who want a seamless start to their holiday. The island itself is large by Maldivian standards, giving guests space to explore palm-lined trails, quiet beachfront spots and tranquil corners, while still enjoying all the comforts and facilities of a well-established resort. Its lagoon is perfect for swimming, paddling and snorkelling, with vibrant marine life close to shore and exciting excursions available for those looking to venture further underwater.

What makes Meeru particularly appealing is its ability to cater to a wide range of holidaymakers. Couples and honeymooners can retreat to peaceful adults-only areas, choose romantic villa categories and enjoy serene beachfront sunsets, while families benefit from dedicated family zones, engaging activities, kids’ facilities and plenty of room to play. This thoughtful balance means everyone can tailor their stay—whether the goal is total relaxation, adventure on the water, or quality time together. The resort’s spa, watersports centre, pools, and wide range of excursions add to the sense of variety, ensuring that days can be as quiet or as activity-filled as guests choose.

Dining at Meeru is generous and varied, with multiple restaurants and bars offering everything from relaxed beachfront buffets to intimate, atmospheric à la carte experiences. Popular all-inclusive plans make holidaying feel effortless, while a selection of beach and over-water villas provides that sought-after Maldivian charm with direct access to the sand or lagoon. Altogether, Meeru Island Resort & Spa combines natural beauty, warm hospitality, and a wonderfully easygoing atmosphere, making it a fantastic choice for anyone seeking a true island escape with space, comfort and a little something for everyone.

Useful Info

  • What To Pack

As a guide, the maximum weight for checked luggage is 20kg in economy class and 30kg in business class

If you’re taking a seaplane transfer, the luggage allowance is a little more restrictive than your commercial flight - you are allowed 20kg per person of baggage and one piece of hand luggage weighing no more than 5kg.

Take along your best beach and casual wear, perfect for the day. A light rain jacket might come in handy in the event of the occasional rain shower. Sunglasses and suntan lotion are a must. Flip flops, sun hat and a beach bag

  • Take Your Own

Don’t forget any medication that you might need, and be sure to pack it in your hand luggage.

Chargers for all your devices (it’s a good idea to take along a few movies on a tablet or something similar as the English TV channels in your hotel may be limited).

Take along your own goggles & snorkels – even though your resort will have this equipment available to hire, you’ll probably be happier having your own.

Mosquito repellent. An underwater camera is a great idea.

  • Travel Tips

Pack a change of clothing in your hand luggage in case of baggage delays (and a spare cozzie so at least you can have a swim when you get to your resort). No sharp objects are permitted in your hand luggage (yes, tweezers are sharp!). Put electronics, medication, toothbrushes and jewellery in your carry-on bag.

Travel insurance is a must. If you can’t afford it, you can’t afford to travel!

It’s often a good idea to let your bank or credit card company know that you’re going overseas.
