Zebra Migration Safari
Every year, during the green season, Botswana’s zebra migration takes place between the Okavango Delta and Makgadikgadi Pans. This migration is the second largest zebra migration in the world. Scattered herds can be seen throughout Okavango Delta and Makgadikgadi palm belt, near the slat pans where the mineral content of grass is said to be the highest.
On this majestic safari, you will have the opportunity to sight some of the herds. Khwai Bush Camp, on the edge of the Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana, is nestled amongst a forest of sycamore and leadwood trees. A perfect welcome to the green season with dramatic afternoon thunderstorms which are expected to provide much needed relief to the wildlife and vegetation. Migrant birds arrive in their flocks and predator hunts are common as vulnerable offspring are born. Experience the vastness of the landscape beyond with a helicopter transfer to the Nxai Pan.

Migration Expeditions
🚁 Khwai Community Area to Nxai Pan National Park
Migration Expeditions, a semi-mobile seasonal camp has just six tents set on low decks enjoying the expanse of the Nxai pan area and the perfect spot to enjoy the zebra migration as tens of thousands of zebra arrive with the promise of the new vegetation. With the new rains, many of the roads become inaccessible but the water wonderland that is experienced from the air is phenomenal. Waves of vibrant pink flamingos return to the drenched pan. Day trips to the 1,000-year-old cluster of trees known as Baines Baobabs form part of the exciting activities on offer.
