The adventure begins with you being collected from your place of accommodation and taken to The Lookout Café where the guides will give you a quick briefing on the trip. Make sure not to bring any valuables with you, not even your passports, leave them at your hotel for your own safety.
Then the real adventure starts! With a steep climb up the rocky gorge about 750 feet (230 metres) to the top and requires a fair degree of fitness.
Between the 10th of August and the 25th of December, it’s low water season so you’ll be taken through rapids #1 to #19. During the rest of the year, it’s high water season so the trip will instead be through rapids #11 to #23.
The trips end with a hearty lunch at the top of their respective end gorges around 02:00 PM, on average lasting between 6,5 and 7 hours.
This activity is unfortunately only for those 15 and above, if your child under this age is of the right maturity, strength and can safely wear a lifejacket, they may be allowed to take part.
