DAY 1 – Walking time: 1 – 2 hrs
Today you’ll walk for two hours from the start of the trail to the overnight camp. The scenery starts to unfold and intrigue immediately. You’ll navigate slopes and small dunes and see the famous ‘fairy circles’ that have mystified travellers and scientists for decades. After sundowners and dinner, you’ll spend the first memorable night in the desert.
DAY 2 – Walking time: morning: 4 – 4.5 hrs / afternoon: 2 – 2.5 hrs Day two starts before it’s fully light and after coffee and breakfast. The desert starts to come alive as your walk continues and you breathe in the fragrant fresh air. Our guides read the tracks in the desert, using their trained eyes to spot the animals, insects and reptiles in the area.
DAY 3 – Walking time: morning: 3 – 3.5 hrs / afternoon: 0 hrs
The day starts before dawn again, and you’ll head off into the dune field after coffee and breakfast. Camel thorn trees provide shade as you move through the soft, undulating dunes before you get to the Tok Tokkie farmhouse at around 11h30.
