Twyfelfontein is known as a national heritage site for its well preserved rock paintings and engravings. There are 17 rock painting sites, totalling 212 stone slabs of history. These are believed to have belonged the the Khoi-San people who died out 1000 years ago, making it particularly unique. Seeing such well-preserved artworks from history is a once in a lifetime opportunity and most certainly unforgettable.
If geology is your thing, due to volcanic eruptions beautiful rock formations have formed making it another place to definitely see. These rock formations can be seen at the Doros Crater, Burnt Mountains, Organ Pipes and Petrified Forest; all within the vicinity of the lodge.
If you’re a nature lover there is plenty of wildlife to be seen namely the Elephants and Giraffes. Plants species are certainly not rare in the desert, discover plants in the most natural, raw form.
