Accommodation at Plains Camp is nestled in an Acacia Knobthorn thicket and is comprised of four African explorer-style tents, simple but luxurious, carrying all the comforts of home straight into the wildest part of South Africa. Tents have en-suite bathrooms with hot running water.
There is also a generator which provides 24-hour lighting in your tent as well as a place to charge your devices (this is only at specific times however.)
We recommend a three-night stay so that you can experience one of the camp’s unique sleep-outs in the bush.
The Main Camp is made up of separate tents, the dining tent and the lounge tent which overlooks an extensive section of the park including a large watering hole which a wide array of game wade and amble through. The food served at Plains Camp is unmatched with hearty, filling meals all day long. It starts with a cup of steaming coffee and homemade rusks, then a big breakfast buffet filled to the brim with everything you could think of, then after some trekking you’ll return for a delicious lunch, then there’s the high tea where you can eat from a variety of baked goods and last but certainly not least is the huge, mouth-watering dinner which will certainly leave you satisfied until morning.
Plains camp is all about hiking and trails with amazing walking safaris on offer ranging from 3-5 night trails where you’ll start with a sleep-out in the bush and end at the top-luxury Rhino Post Safari Lodge.
Walks are limited to just 8 guests so it’s ideal if you’re travelling in a group. Guests are accompanied by two armed rangers for protection from the wildlife. And don’t worry, your fitness level is taken into account and the trails are tailored to suit your pace and your stamina, everything is built around your desires.
