The Hippo Hollow Country Estate has a variety of beautiful, tranquil and quiet rooms on offer. There’s the River & Garden chalets and the Courtyard Hotel & Standard rooms; all of which offer superb quality and a peaceful space to get away from the hustle and bustle and just – relax. The Courtyard Hotel rooms are basically just and upgrade of the Standard rooms so they come with all the extra trimmings.
The River Chalets are ideal for families with ample space while the Garden Chalets are ideal for couples with a private, cozy space. Unlike the Suites, the Chalets don’t odder television, Wi-Fi or telephones.
There’s an on-site restaurant which includes a bar and lounge area. Dig into a mouth-watering menu whilst watching hippos and kingfishers straight from the deck and sipping on some of the finest South African wines.
There are three restaurants to choose from: the Hippo Hollow Restaurant, a large 200 seater dining area with a flexible and adjustable menu; the Kuka Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge is a place to sit back and relax in a sophisticated afro-chic styled space with cocktails to die for and a sumptuous menu for every meal of the day; lastly there’s the Shangaan River Club, a dining experience ideal for groups or families with a big selection of mouth-watering South African and Shangaan dishes. Immerse yourself in the rich culture of the Shangaan traditions such as African Banquets.
There’s an extensive list of things to do around the Kruger Park, all arranged by the Adventure Centre. Just to name a few there’s game drives and hikes throughout the day, quad biking, rafting, paint ball, kayaking, balloon safaris, helicopter flights, abseiling, aerial cable trails and most important of all is the elephant interactions, a unique experience offered only by the Hippo Hollow Estate. With the Elephant Experiences you can ride and interact with the elephants to witness their gentle wisdom, a truly memorable and touching interaction that you will carry with you for a lifetime.
