Accommodation on the Golden Mariner is comprised of 4 cabins: with 2 bunks in each. All cabins come with mosquito nets and fans powered by generators which run all night to fight the African humidity without making a sound. Want to try something a bit different? There’s extra bedding (8 mattresses) available if you’d like to sleep out under the stars. Stars are best seen in the wild where there is no light pollution so they can shine their brightest.
There’s a fully kitted kitchen on board run by Golden Mariner’s own chef. Dine out in the Open Air Dining area on the Top Deck and whip out your game meat as there’s a full on braai area available on the deck. No African safari is complete without a braai!
There are also the aforementioned activities to take part in. There is a tender boat that comes with the hire of the houseboat, great for game drives and fishing in the vicinity of the houseboat, and are strictly crew driven. Should you require a speed boat for long distance fishing, please either bring your own which will be towed behind the houseboat leaving behind one of the houseboat tenders, (please bring your own rope for towing and fuel) or you can hire a speed boat from Marineland. (Contact us for details). Try your hand at magnificent bird watching. Sound too tiring? relax! There’s a sun deck where you can break out the towel and catch some sun rays, be sure to bring along a nice shady hat and sun screen. After tanning for a little while, you can also choose between either the splash pool on deck or the swimming cage attached to the boat to experience the lake first hand.
