The Karoo Art Hotel offers secure off-street parking. Barrydale is quite safe and the hotel has never had any damage to cars or break-ins over the last 5 years, even with cars parked in the on-street parking bays outside the hotel. However, for car clubs and motor cycle clubs that require additional peace of mind, the manager would be happy to appoint a night watchman for a small additional charge. For cycle tour groups the hotel offer a secure overnight locked storage facility in its historic Belanti Theatre and Bioscope for their bicycles.
The restaurant, The Gallery, is proof that the hotel’s love for all art and talented artists extends and embraces the kitchen! As mentioned, the restaurant serves South African ‘platteland’ food, Karoo dishes, all prepared by their professional chefs, only using the best available fresh local ingredients. With the installation of their new 40-seater private cinema in the gallery of the Belanti, the hotel can also host intimate film screenings and advertising launches, lectures and small conferences. There is also the large screen in the Belanti Theatre itself where approximately 100 seats can be accommodated.
The Belanti will also host some of the hotel’s larger art installations and exhibitions.

While it is the ideal overnight stop on the way to Oudtshoorn and the famous Swartberg Pass, or the fertile charms of Wilderness and the Garden Route, Barrydale is most certainly a destination in its own right. Many visitors to the Karoo Art Hotel regret not allowing for at least a two-night stop.
