Hi there AFT,
I wish to thank you so much for booking us on the Rhino Plains walking Safari and also the Rhino Post Lodge. We had a great time everything was just wonderful. Our guide Andre’ and tracker Albino at Rhino plains were exceptional, the knowledge they had was excellent. we learnt so much. Also, the sleepout was a great experience.
Both the Plains camp and the Post Lodge were very comfortable, food was excellent and the staff were very friendly, in all it was a great Safari holiday.
Wow, what can we say but the country exceeded all expectations. Richard was great and all the lodges we stayed at were all extremely comfortable, clean, staff beyond friendly and food fantastic. The upgrade to Equator Snow Lodge was a brilliant suggestion and was the highlight for both my mom-in-law and Biddy. We had the lodge to ourselves for the three days and we were able to leave all our luggage in our rooms for the two days and night that we went hiking – a huge bonus as the trip involved quite a bit of packing and on the move. I would only recommend Equator Snow – for the little bit extra, it really made our stay in the Rwenzori’s.
Whilst we didn’t cover too much distance, the roads are not great as you know, and everything takes time to get from A to B. My feedback therefore centres around cutting down travel time where possible.
The ‘what to pack’ list you sent was perfect. The only thing that I would add is to take money on the trek to tip the trackers as once your hour is up, the trackers stay with the gorillas and don’t return to base camp with the guides. The guides ask that we tip them then. We didn’t have shillings with us on the trek as we had left them in the car.
Thank you AFT for putting together a wonderful itinerery for our family.
Until next time….
Oh we had such a wonderful trip. Thank you very much for organising such a great place to stay.
The accommodation was great, the food was excellent and the staff were so friendly and accommodating, without being in our faces!
We also had great animal sightings – lion on a dead elephant, two different leopard on kills, then all the other usual. It really was fantastic. I think Nicole’s boyfriend was somewhat overwhelmed and probably ran out of space on his camera!
Thanks so much, once again.
Hi African Fusion Travel,
I know this response is late but I did want to provide you some feedback regarding our trip to Africa.
First of all, it was a trip of a life time and we had an amazing experience. We can’t stop talking about it!
Cape Town – Meet & greet and driver were waiting for us and quickly got us to the Radisson Red. It was a neat, eco friendly hotel in a great location – we could walk around the V & A waterfront and easily catch a hop on hop off bus.
Namibia – Our flight into Walvis Bay was on time and very comfortable. Our accommodations in Swapokmund were very nice on the water and the food was excellent. We enjoyed quad biking the sand dunes. It was nice to take the catamaran tour on the water and see the seals and dolphins. The boat was comfortable, the food was excellent (fresh shucked oysters) and there was lots of room.
Vic Falls, Zimbabwe – The flight was good and with clear skies we were able to see Victoria Fall from the plane. It was really cool. Our accommodations were very generous for the 3 of us and we were very comfortable. We liked the deck and the nearby watering hole as we saw lots of animals when dining or laying by the pool. We watched monkeys play outside our room and the feeding of the vultures was a unique experience. The food was good with lots of options for breakfast. The transfers from the airport and guide for Victoria Falls was named “Last” and he was excellent. Very friendly, fun and knowledgeable.
Lower Zambezi Zambia – this trip was excellent. All our flights and transfers were smooth and on time. The resort was breath taking with the location right on the river, large rooms with private decks and we even had our own private pool, which was a pleasant surprise. We like the tented style structure and although there are a lot of noises at night when you are camped right on the river, the beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the experience. The night safari was cool – we saw creatures we hadn’t seen so far and the day safaris were good. The guides went to great lengths to find the perfect spot when stopping for tea in the morning or a sundowner at night.
Rwanda and Uganda to see gorillas – Air Rwanda was excellent. Our flight to Kigali was lovely with great service, friendly staff and good food. We departed and landed on time. The gorilla trekking experience was outstanding. Our guide and tracker were awesome and the experience of walking in the jungle was amazing. We were lucky to have a very active gorilla family to observe and photograph and a little one interacted with one of the guests. We got some great photos and this experience was one of the highlight of our trip. The resort was beautiful and the location on the lake was gorgeous.
Tanzania – We drove to Ngorgora crater and started our safari. The crater was fantastic with lots of animals and beautiful landscape. We felt we were the only ones there and we were able to get close to most of the animals. The Ngorgora Tented lodge was really cool. A medieval place. We were the only guests and were treated royally by the chef, host and other staff. The food and drinks were outstanding, the setting was gorgeous and the amenities in our room and at the lodge were impressive. We loved the crater tour and the accommodations.
Seychelles – We left the Serengeti for Nairobi to spend the night and leave for the Seychelles the next day. The intercontinental hotel was beautiful and the room very comfortable with great amenities in the room and hotel (rooftop lounge). The resort amenities were good – lots of beach and pool side chairs, a couple choices for dining and a tour company on site to book tours. We did take one tour of the island and we enjoyed seeing the entire island, stopping at some of the highlights of the Seychelles and shopping.
This was a big trip and we wanted to thank you so much for helping us with it – we could not have done it without you. We learned many things about booking and organizing trips in a foreign country that we will be able to utilize in future trips. Although all of us were in different locations and time zones (Pat and I don’t live in the same city) we appreciated the frequent communication. Your responses to our email in a different color were very helpful in keeping track of the many questions and items that had to be looked after. Thank you for you patience. The system for paying the invoices was smooth and throughout our trip we did not have any surprises on our credit cards. The suggestions and tips for travelling in Africa in general, what to do before you come and information on each resort was very worthwhile. Booking our own flights between cities was challenging as we were not familiar with the airlines in that part of the world and who was reliable or better than the other but we learned and it all worked out. We are also so pleased that we were healthy for the entire trip and after our return. We appreciated the frequent communication, your timely response to our inquiries and the guides, transfers, lodging and tours you set us up with. We feel you did an excellent job. Thank you so much!!!
Take Care & All the Best!
Hi African Fusion Travel
All went very well from the charter flight to the stay at Baines. Baines is fantastic, great staff, very friendly including fishing and game guides. As always African Fusion service top notch – thanks.
I have no complaints whatsoever only that the fishing was a bit slow, but being on the river and seeing so many elephants made up for it.
Hi African Fusion Travel
Thanks for your support and all the sudden changes in flights. The trip went very well and was enjoyed by all. Certainly a nice lodge to stay at. Ben and Debs were great hosts. Thanks once again. PS, fishing was good and all caught. Biggest 13.5lb.
Hi African Fusion Travel
In a nut shell it was absolutely fantastic. All of the different bits combined beautifully and each part was very different. The Zimbabwe time was really good and we thoroughly enjoyed the Bomani experience without giving up any creature comforts. The tents at The Gorges were very good and thanks for recommending them. Although we didn’t look at the cottages they looked very good as well. Both Deb and Chris were very friendly and welcoming. The experience of seeing a pair of Black Eagles fly on The Gorge thermals was outstanding.
The Botswana Safari was absolutely sensational. The guide was terrific and the camp staff was great and attentive. Although quite basic, when compared to some of our tenting experience, it certainly didn’t lack anything and the food was well above expectations. A really enjoyable 10 days, although the early morning start. We actually encountered a leopard nearly six days in a row and this wasn’t at a distance either, with several of them just walking past the car. I would highly recommend the guide and African Fusion Travel. Thanks for putting us on that trip. We also had a great group of people which we got along quite well.
FYI we really enjoyed our gorilla experience in both Rwanda and Uganda, although the Uganda trek was a bit harder and not so much interaction with the gorillas. I am sure that this would vary with each interaction. Many thanks for all your advice and assistance in producing a great holiday and African experience. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Also many thanks for your prompt response and assistance when the girl’s bags went missing. They joined us the next day with baggage.
I just wanted to drop you a brief email to thank you and your colleagues in Namibia for putting together a fantastic itinerary. Our trip was reallly fantastic and went very smoothly. We were really impressed with all the lodges / guest houses etc we stayed at. We particularly loved Desert Camp – a very special place.
Good morning African Fusion Travel, firstly I want to praise your good service. All the way through the booking and informations I got from you. Plus following up after our trip. Excellent. Thank you for that.Concerning the lodge: it is a very beautiful lodge. Since we were the only people there we enjoyed it even more. The food was very good and the breezy bungalows were very nice. The lodge is very clean and well maintained. Angus and his staff were very helpful and friendly.
Hi African Fusion Travel,
We had a great time at Machangulo. It really was the special retreat we were looking for. I feel ready for our hectic upcoming peak season. It was incredible! They gave us the nicest chalet and all the activities and things we did were really good value and amazing experiences.
Hi African Fusion Travel,Our trip was amazing! The gorillas were unbelievable, and Julia (and I) loved the giraffes and Giraffe Manor. She keeps asking (5 – 10 times a day) to go back to Giraffe Manor. I’m so glad we added that in on our return from Rwanda! (And, it’s been on my list for a long time.) It was really a magical trip! Thanks for organizing it all for us!
I thought I would jot down some feedback on our Lovely holiday in Zimbabwe. A big thank you African Fusion Travel for patching together a really awesome holiday for us. I really appreciate to trouble you went to, to make it all work. Best wishes and many thanks again
