Kuredu Island Resort & Spa

HOTEL OVERVIEW

40 minutes by seaplane brings you to this firm favourite with South African holidaymakers. A large (by Maldivian standards) and vibey resort with 3.5 kilometres of beach and which caters for every taste - basic accommodation on the beach, a luxury villa with Jacuzzi, a secluded villa with private pool or a villa on stilts over the water.

Lots of choice, lots of activities including a 6 hole Pitch & Putt Golf Course, the first in Maldives, and the Pro Divers PADI 5-star facility which is one of the best dive schools in the region. Wi-Fi is complimentary in your villa. The whole resort has a small town atmosphere to it and is equally great for families or a romantic getaway. No less than 7 restaurants and 7 bars plus a Sai Kotari Tea House caters for every taste, and what could be better than a cocktail while watching the star-filled night-sky.

If you are looking for a quiet time, pick a spot at the new Sangu swimming pool – over 18’s only! Then try an exclusive wine tasting at Kuredu’s impressive Wine Cellar in the Sangu Restaurant with its selection of 1100 bottles under the expert guidance of the resident sommelier.

Useful Info

  • What To Pack

As a guide, the maximum weight for checked luggage is 20kg in economy class and 30kg in business class

If you’re taking a seaplane transfer, the luggage allowance is a little more restrictive than your commercial flight - you are allowed 20kg per person of baggage and one piece of hand luggage weighing no more than 5kg.

Take along your best beach and casual wear, perfect for the day. A light rain jacket might come in handy in the event of the occasional rain shower. Sunglasses and suntan lotion are a must. Flip flops, sun hat and a beach bag

  • Take Your Own

Don’t forget any medication that you might need, and be sure to pack it in your hand luggage.

Chargers for all your devices (it’s a good idea to take along a few movies on a tablet or something similar as the English TV channels in your hotel may be limited).

Take along your own goggles & snorkels – even though your resort will have this equipment available to hire, you’ll probably be happier having your own.

Mosquito repellent. An underwater camera is a great idea.

  • Travel Tips

Pack a change of clothing in your hand luggage in case of baggage delays (and a spare cozzie so at least you can have a swim when you get to your resort). No sharp objects are permitted in your hand luggage (yes, tweezers are sharp!). Put electronics, medication, toothbrushes and jewellery in your carry-on bag.

Travel insurance is a must. If you can’t afford it, you can’t afford to travel!

It’s often a good idea to let your bank or credit card company know that you’re going overseas.
