Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi

HOTEL OVERVIEW

Experience a holiday in the tropics beyond compare at Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi. Blessed with thriving vegetation & pristine waters, the Island of White Gold finds itself in peaceful seclusion in the North Malé Atoll. Set in eighty-three acres of lush tropical beach property on Lhohifushi Island, the resort’s design enables it to blend into its surroundings, setting it apart from other Maldives island resorts. Discover a paradise hidden in plain sight, where the sun rises painting the skies in rich orange hues and the gentle waves of the Indian Ocean caress the shore with grace.

Opened in 2006, Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi is one of the larger resort islands in the Maldives. It has enough space for a soccer field, 215 guest rooms and an impressive range of amenities.

The island’s coastline offers a bit of everything. Snorkelers can take advantage of a nice coral reef just off the beach; a placid blue lagoon is perfect for swimming; three beach bars provide ample opportunity for drinking; and the south end of the island has one of the best surf breaks in the Maldives (excluding uninhabited islands). In fact, Hudhuranfushi is one of the only destinations where guests can surf on consistently good waves, just a few a feet from their guest rooms. Surfers typically stay in the Lohis Villas, which are located near the surf break and Lohis Bar -- an all-inclusive, open-air bar with a patio overlooking the water.

Other than surfers, typical clientele are European families and couples. The resort vibe is casual, with many people walking about barefoot (the main restaurant and most bars have sandy floors). The most bustling area of the resort is the outdoor pool and an adjacent bar with a stage, snacks, and pool table.

Useful Info

  • What To Pack

As a guide, the maximum weight for checked luggage is 20kg in economy class and 30kg in business class

If you’re taking a seaplane transfer, the luggage allowance is a little more restrictive than your commercial flight - you are allowed 20kg per person of baggage and one piece of hand luggage weighing no more than 5kg.

Take along your best beach and casual wear, perfect for the day. A light rain jacket might come in handy in the event of the occasional rain shower. Sunglasses and suntan lotion are a must. Flip flops, sun hat and a beach bag

  • Take Your Own

Don’t forget any medication that you might need, and be sure to pack it in your hand luggage.

Chargers for all your devices (it’s a good idea to take along a few movies on a tablet or something similar as the English TV channels in your hotel may be limited).

Take along your own goggles & snorkels – even though your resort will have this equipment available to hire, you’ll probably be happier having your own.

Mosquito repellent. An underwater camera is a great idea.

  • Travel Tips

Pack a change of clothing in your hand luggage in case of baggage delays (and a spare cozzie so at least you can have a swim when you get to your resort). No sharp objects are permitted in your hand luggage (yes, tweezers are sharp!). Put electronics, medication, toothbrushes and jewellery in your carry-on bag.

Travel insurance is a must. If you can’t afford it, you can’t afford to travel!

It’s often a good idea to let your bank or credit card company know that you’re going overseas.
